ESLA Group
'AL' 165 degree Bi-Multi 2-Way lantern.
Probably the most
common of all the ESLA Bi-Multi range of 2-way directional-lanterns
is the 165 degree variant, for use with 40w-200w tungsten lamps. This lantern was designed for normal road side
use where there weren't any junctions or the need for
more specialised lighting arrangements. This lantern came complete
with its ESLA '1504' Telegraph pole mounting bracket
and was bought from its previous owner in Kent. Unfortunately,
the lantern is missing its brass lampholder and stem,
but replacements can be sourced; more difficult to replace
is the missing fusebox from the base of the arched
bracket.
The ESLA
2-way
lantern and bracket seen in the
condition when acquired.
A
similar 2-way ESLA seen mounted in a swanneck bracket,
Toton, Nottinghamshire.
