Industria
2600
for 70w SON lamps.
Available for use with 50w, 70w, 100w, or 150w SON
lamps the Dutch made Industria 2600 lantern has become
popular with streetlighting departments and contractors
in the UK, and is now in widespread use all over Britain.
The lantern in the collection
is a new and unused example dating from February 2004
and is for use with 70-watt SON-T
lamps. Constructed from tough plastic it has an ingress
protection rating of IP65 and is considered to be a
vandal resistant fitting. The 2600's deep canopy houses
the lantern's control-gear, and it can be used as a
side-entry mounted lantern, or as a post-top mounted
lantern, but a special adaptor is required for post-top
mounting. The mobile phone has been placed in the picture
to give a sense of scale.
By
releasing the two plastic clips, the bowl hinges down
on its side-mounted hinges to reveal the 70w SON-T lamp,
aluminium reflectors and the underside of the gear-tray.
The 2600 is one of the few modern SON lanterns that
still uses a prismatic bowl to control light distribution.
Releasing the two large Philips screws at either end
of the gear-tray allows the gear-tray to be hinged
down to gain access to the control-gear mounted on the
back of it. Note the neat layout of the control-gear
and wiring.

for either 50w or 70w SON lamps, PFC capacitor, and
black plastic terminal blocks.

top mounting adaptor and SS6 photocell.
